Veterans Exemption

Property Exemptions offered to Our Veterans, Armed Forces and Their Families

You must meet the exemption requirements as of January 1 to be eligible and have the United States Department of Veterans Affairs disability award letter. All applications are made in person at any of our three office locations

* Additional documents required for Disability Discount and Active Military.

 

  •  VETERAN SERVICE CONNECTED DISABILITY ($5,000)

            Service connected disabled veteran with rating of 10% or more     

     

  • VETERAN SERVICE CONNECTED DISABILITY (TOTAL EXEMPTION)

            Total and permanent service connected disability 100% disabled.

 

  • COMBAT RELATED DISABILITY DISCOUNT (PERCENTAGE OF DISABILITY)

            Must have a combat related disability from the Veteran’s Administration, be 65 years of age as of

             January 1, a Florida resident when enlisted into service and have an honorable discharge

            *Requires a copy of DD214-CERTIFICATE OF RELEASE OR DISCHARGE FROM ACTIVE DUTY

 

  • VETERAN SERVICE CONNECTED SPOUSE DISABILITY ($5,000 - TOTAL EXEMPTION)

            Under certain circumstances the benefit can carry over to the veteran’s spouse as long as the

             veteran had title to property and married to spouse for 5 years.

 

  • ACTIVE MILITARY BENEFIT RENTAL OF HOMESTEAD PROPERTY

            Under certain circumstances Active Military who homestead and receives military orders

            transferring them to another duty station out of the area may be eligible to continue receiving

             homestead exemption and rent their property. *Requires several additional documents.
